1st day: – MILAN
Arrival of the group in Milan. Lunch in a restaurant. Guided tour of the Duomo, one of the greatest gothic churches in Europe. Visit to the church of San Fedele, a model of sacred architecture of the counter-reformation. Transfer to hotel during the evening; dinner and overnight stay.
2nd day: MILAN-THE ABBEY OF MORIMONDO-MILAN
The morning is dedicated to visiting the Basilicas of the city of Milan. Sant’Ambrogio (Saint Ambrose), San Lorenzo and San Eustorgio, famous for its Portinari Chapel. Lunch in a restaurant during the visit. The afternoon is dedicated to visiting the Cistercian abbey of Morimondo. Return to hotel in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay.
3rd day: MILAN – PAVIA – CHIARAVALLE ABBEY – MILAN
The morning is dedicated to visiting the “Certosa” of Pavia, a masterpiece of architectural style and works of art that it is home to. Lunch in a restaurant. The afternoon is dedicated to a visit to the Abbey of Chiaravalle; Saint Bernard of Clairvaux wanted to build this, as a bond to the Abbey of Citeaux. Return to the hotel during the evening. Dinner and overnight stay.
4th day: MILAN-CREMONA-CARAVAGGIO-MILAN
The morning is dedicated to visiting Cremona; the cathedral is a symbol of Romanesque architecture; it houses unequalled jewels of painting and sculpture. Lunch in a restaurant. The afternoon is dedicated to a pilgrimage to the Sanctuary of Caravaggio. Return to the hotel in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay.
5th day: MILAN – OROPA
The morning is dedicated to a visit of the sanctuary of Oropa. Lunch in a restaurant. End of programme.
